One held on charge of murder; minor detained | Pune News



Pune: The Deccan Gymkhana police on Wednesday arrested a man (34) from Dattawadi and detained his minor accomplice in connection with the murder of 32-year-old Krushal Kasbe of Dhankawdi, former security guard of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).“The murder was the fallout of a dispute between Kasbe and the accused, Omkar Kamble of Dattawadi, over money,” said senior inspector Girisha Nimbalkar of the Deccan Gymkhana police.Kasbe’s body was found along the riverbed road on April 19. His throat was slit with a sharp weapon. The police ascertained his identity with the help of a tattoo on his hand. Kasbe left the PMC’s security guard job three years ago.Nimbalkar said, “We confirmed Kamble’s involvement in the murder with the help of technical investigations.” She said a police team on Wednesday traced the scooter Kamble used to escape after the murder. “We found cellphones of Kamble and his minor accomplice in the scooter’s boot,” she said.The officer said Kamble and the minor, 17, were taken into custody on Wednesday evening. During the questioning, it was revealed that Kamble promised Kasbe a job and took money from him. “When Kasbe did not get a job, he started pursuing Kamble for his money. He had heated arguments with Kamble as the latter was not returning the money, following which Kamble murdered him,” the officer said.
