Man held on charge of son-in-law’s murder | Pune News



The Talegaon-Dabhade police on Saturday arrested a 40-year-old brick-kiln worker on the charge of bludgeoning his son-in-law, 30, to death. The murder happened on Friday at Parandwadi in Maval taluka, when the victim, Laxman Mukane, was quarrelling with his wife. The accused, Santosh Waghmare, initially tried to intervene between the couple, but when Mukane would not listen, the accused bludgeoned him to death. Mukane’s wife lodged a complaint with the Talegaon-Dabhade police.He said that the complainant and her husband were brick-kiln workers. On Friday night, the duo entered into a dispute over some domestic issue. Hearing the commotion, Waghmare, who is the complainant’s uncle, came to the complainant’s house and tried to pacify her husband. “But the victim continued to abuse her and Waghmare. In a fit of rage, Waghmare hit Mukane with a stick. Mukane sustained severe injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead,” he said.The officer said that Waghmare was arrested under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).eom\mt
