Pune: Some parts of Chakan MIDC area lost electricity supply after a car rammed a few poles of a substation at 5pm on Tuesday. The repair works were partly completed and the remaining repairs were expected to be completed in two to three hours, said MSEDCL officials. The 22 KV Mahalunge switching device and the 22 KV MIDC double circuit feeder were damaged on account of the collision. Two electricity poles collapsed and resulted in damage to the power lines. Initially, this accident disrupted a power load of approximately 11 MW. The demand load of 7 MW has been restored through alternative supply routes. Supply for approximately 17 industrial consumers was suspended.
