Autorickshaw driver’s son bags govt seat after clearing NEET

PUNE: Perseverance, family sacrifice and timely support helped Rahul Ghumre, son of an autorickshaw driver, secure admission to Government Medical College in Ambajogai, after clearing the NEET examination on merit.For over two decades, his father Tatyabhau, drove an autorickshaw in Pune to provide for the family. Originally from Pimpalgaon Ghumri in Beed district, he joined Ajinkya Rickshaw Association and worked tirelessly to ensure that both his children received good education.With coaching fees running into lakhs of rupees, the family could not afford private classes. Support came from Ajinkya Rickshaw Association, whose president Nitin Bhujbal, arranged for a waiver of fees at Motion Classes.“My father’s hard work and guidance helped me reach this stage,” Rahul said. Both were felicitated by Kalyaninagar Joggers Park Group and Ajinkya Rickshaw Association. Bhujbal said, “Rahul’s success has brought pride to his family, his community, and to many who see his journey as proof that perseverance can overcome financial and social barriers. We are happy that we chose the right person.”
