Pune: The Bhosari MIDC police are looking for a travel agent who allegedly duped a private company employee by taking Rs1.7 lakh from him in Jan to book three flight tickets to London on May 7 and using the money for himself instead.The man checked with the airline only to find the tickets had not been booked. He followed up with the agent, but approached the police to lodge a complaint when he did not get his money back.An officer from the Bhosari MIDC police said the complainant works with a private company and stays in Moshi. He had contacted the accused from Kharadi to buy three tickets to London. The accused took Rs1.7 lakh from him and said the booking had been done on a flight scheduled on May 7.“The complainant found out that the accused had lied and used the money for himself. We have registered a case under Section 318 (cheating) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita,” he said.
