Love it or lump it, you just cannot ignore jazz and this year, the celebrations marking its day on the calendar start this weekend and spill into mid-May. April 30 has been celebrated as International Jazz Day since 2011, following efforts by musician and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Herbie Hancock who believed this genre to be a unifying factor in the world.
The International Jazz Day Bengaluru Celebrations unfold over five days and five different venues this year and is presented by The Bangalore School of Music (BSM) in association with Alliance Francaise Bangalore and Goethe-Institut.
