From the sets of ‘Maddy’: How Rio Raj and Saniya Iyappan ace a scene in their upcoming rom-com

The punishing Chennai sun burns bright above the heads of a dozen workers who are busy erecting a grand wedding set on the lawn of a beachside resort in ECR, Chennai. Assistant directors, production assistants, and other technicians have turned the resort into a hive of activity. This is the high-octane environment I enter as I step into the sets of Maddy, the upcoming Tamil film starring Rio Raj and Saniya Iyappan.

Produced by Kalai Arasu’s Roll Time Studios and directed by Karthikeyan BR, an erstwhile assistant of Lokesh Kanagaraj and Hip Hop Tamizha, Maddy is a rom-com that tells the cat-and-mouse cricket-love story between a CSK fan and an RCB fan.
