Deepu S Kumar interview: Shaping blockbusters on the editing table

Deepu S Kumar is one of the most sought-after editors in the Kannada film industry. The seasoned technician is celebrating 20 years in his film journey. His career coincidentally took off with the massive success of Mungaru Maleand Duniya, two historic Kannada movies nearing the 20-year landmark.

Deepu remembers trying to land a BPO job in Bengaluru when his father’s health set him on a different path in life. “My father had suffered a heart attack and I would visit his office to ensure he wasn’t smoking again,” says Deepu with a chuckle.
