Carnatic violinist Jyotsna Srikanth to re-release Bangalore Dreams

“I always believed learning the violin in both Eastern and Western classical styles would make me a complete musician,” says Jyotsna Srikanth. The Bengaluru-based musician will be re-launching her 2015 EP Bangalore Dreams with the Jyotsna Carnatic Jazz Trio; the album is the first release for Tala Root Records, the newly launched sub-label of Femme Music.

Jyotsna says Bangalore Dreams came into being at a time when she was living in the United Kingdom and was homesick and nostalgic. “Memories of home used to hit hard and each track reflects one of those times. Now, having relocated to Bengaluru, I hear those melodies with a different perspective.”
