Mumbai: Water supply was disrupted in parts of Khar West and Bandra West after a major leakage was reported from a 900mm diameter water pipeline at Mahim Causeway on Monday afternoon.The incident was reported at 1.35pm from the northbound stretch of Mahim Causeway during excavation work, officials said. Traffic police control alerted civic authorities after noticing heavy leakage from the underground pipeline. Officials from BMC’s water department rushed to the site and began emergency repair work to contain the leakage and restore normal water supply at the earliest. Motorists were advised to exercise caution while passing through the affected stretch as excavation and repair work may continue in the area.
