Pune: The court of additional sessions judge, D K Anbhule, at Vadgaon Maval on Tuesday convicted and sentenced 10 accused to rigorous life imprisonment for the murder of an elderly farmer couple and their son at their farmhouse in Dhamane village near Talegaon, about 35km from the city, in the early hours of April 25, 2017.Apart from killing Nathu Phale (65), his wife, Chababai (60), and their son, Atrinandan alias Aba, the dacoits severely thrashed the farmer’s daughter-in-law, Tejashri (26), and one of his three granddaughters before decamping with gold jewellery and cash from their house. The incident came to light around 4.30am on April 25, 2017, when blood-soaked Tejashri (26) with her two daughters walked up to a neighbour’s house, about half-a-kilometre away. She narrated the entire incident to her neighbour, Rohidas Garade, before fainting at the doorstep.
Police later arrested the accused people and filed a chargesheet against them for offences of armed dacoity, murder and other charges. Those convicted are Nagesh alias Nagya alias Nageshwar Bhosale, Chhotya Lahanu Kale alias Bapu Tukaram Kale, Babya alias Bhenya Jindhya Chavan, Sevan alias Dengya Pyaav Laabh, Dilip Pandu Chavan, Supar alias Suparya Pyaav Chavan, Raju Tukaram Shingad, Ajay Shivaji Pawar, Yogesh Birju Bhosale and Deepak Birju Bhosale.Inspector Mugut Bhanudas Patil, then in charge of Talegaon Dabhade police station, investigated the case. Additional public prosecutor Smita Chaugule represented the state during the trial.
