Late-night loud music lands Koregaon Park eateries in trouble | Pune News



Pune: Koregaon Park police took action against two eateries for playing loud music. They seized music systems and speakers from the two eateries located on lane no. 7 for playing loud music late on Friday night. Another eatery was sealed by the police until January 2.On Saturday evening, police registered cases against these eateries under the provisions of the Environment (Protection) Act. Late on Wednesday night, police sealed an eatery on the North Main Road in Koregaon Park for playing loud music, and the eatery will remain sealed until January 2.A team headed by senior inspector Vijaykumar Doke and sub inspector Shrikant Chavan raided these eateries after loud music was played by the DJs. Police said that each of these eateries had about 100 to 150 customers who were dancing and enjoying their meals. These customers were allowed to eat their meals following the raid.Police seized music players and amplifiers from these two eateries, collectively worth over Rs4 lakh. In the meantime, the state excise department took action against a pub at Vimannagar for organising an illegal party and serving foreign-made liquor illegally to the patrons around 5am on Saturday.State excise superintendent Atul Kanade told TOI, “We registered the case against 52 persons for operating the pub until 5 am in violation of the closing deadline mentioned in their licence. It is illegal to operate a pub until 5 am.”“The two pub operators managed to flee from the pub. We are searching for them,” he said. “We seized liquor and other equipment totally worth over 3.67 lakh,” he added. “There were 42 youngsters consuming liquor and 10 pub staffers,” he said, adding, “We registered the case against all of them.”“Two managers were produced before a city court on Saturday afternoon, and the court remanded them in judicial custody until January 10,” he said.
