Pune: The state prosecution on Tuesday told a magisterial court in Paud that power of attorney (PoA) holder Sheetal Tejwani’s office boy signed the application, affidavit and an authorisation letter as partner in Amadea Enterprises LLP in an adjudication process before the collector of stamps to determine stamp duty on the Mundhwa land parcel.Public prosecutor Nitin Adagale told the court that the Bavdhan police needed sufficient time to interrogate Tejwani in custody regarding the kind of transaction that may have taken place between Tejwani and her office boy and the documents exchanged between them for this purpose. Tejwani, along with Amadea Enterprises partner Digvijay Patil and suspended sub registrar RB Taru, are accused of entering into a conspiracy to cause a revenue loss of Rs 21 crore by getting a sale deed registered for a 40 acres of govt land in Mundhwa that is occupied by the Botanical Survey of India on a lease till 2036. Tejwani claims to hold the PoA for the 272 watandars (original holders of the Mahar Watan land in Mundhwa that was taken over by the govt after the system was abolished). The police have already arrested Taru in this case and he is lodged in jail under judicial custody while a notice has been issued to Patil. The Bavdhan police arrested Tejwani on Dec 16 and the Paud court had remanded her in police custody till Dec 23. The police produced her before the court on Tuesday at the end of this custody and moved an application seeking another nine days of her custody remand. The court ordered her custodial remand till Dec 27. Adagale, while arguing for extension of her custodial remand, brought to the court’s notice that documents furnished by some RTI activists on Dec 22 and 23 to them have provided new revelations that makes the case multi-dimensional and more elaborate that needs thorough investigation. He also submitted that Tejwani was not cooperating with the investigation based on information received through the RTI activists. Tejwani paid some amount to two advocates for a document which needs to be seized, the prosecutor said.
