60-year-old Mumbai dies after fight with tenant, murder case filed

Mumbai: After a 60-year-old man died during a fight with his tenant, the Malwani Police on Monday registered a case of murder against the tenant and are probing further.Ashraf Ai Mohammad Khan, the deceased, lives with his family in Seven Bungalows, Andheri, and owns another property in Malad West. Khan and his former tenant, Sayyad Imtiaz, were having a dispute regarding the deposit paid for the Malad property. Imtiaz had vacated the property.According to the police, Khan was attending a society meeting on Sunday when Sayyad arrived and questioned him about the deposit. A fight broke out between the two. Khan felt dizzy and was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed. His body was sent for an autopsy. After receiving the autopsy report on Monday, the police lodged a case of murder against Imtiaz based on a statement given by Khan’s wife.
