New Delhi: A Delhi court granted bail to a TV actor in a rape case, observing he could not be kept incarcerated merely because the police thought he could commit a similar offence in the future. The court of additional sessions judge Bhupinder Singh of Tis Hazari Courts, on Sept 10, observed that there was nothing on record to show that the actor did not cooperate with the probe. The court was hearing his bail plea. The FIR was registered for offences of rape, voluntarily causing hurt and common intention for an alleged incident on Aug 9. Pulling up cops for not recovering the accused’s mobile phone despite four days of his custody, the judge said that no searches were carried out. TNN
