A speeding motorcycle collided with a KSRTC bus coming from the Hubballi side. The rider — Bavatis Ghadi (Siddi), from Garadolli village in Haliyal taluk — died on the spot.

The front portion of the two-wheeler caught fire immediately after impact, leaving it completely charred. Police say Bavatis was riding from Yellapur to Haliyal on Tuesday when his bike rammed into the oncoming bus at high speed near Kolikere.
