New Delhi: Delhi Police has arrested three men for extorting Rs 2.57 lakh from a 21-year-old factory owner at gunpoint in northwest Delhi’s Bawana. On Aug 26, the complainant was held at gunpoint near his factory by his friend Akash, along with Karan alias Badshah and Suhail alias Kaif. The trio demanded Rs 2.04 lakh in cash and Rs 53,000 via a digital payment platform. An FIR was registered at Narela Industrial area police station. “Akash and Karan were arrested, and the police recovered Rs 39,500. Interrogation confirmed the role of Suhail, who was absconding. Technical surveillance later traced him to Shalimar Bagh,” said DCP (outer north) Hareshwar V Swami.When the police raided his hideout on Sept 15, Suhail allegedly fired at them. “Officers retaliated, injuring him in the leg before arresting him. He was later identified as the key accused in the extortion case,” DCP Swami added.Suhail was also wanted in a case related to an alleged abduction of a girl in Sultanpuri and has a history of involvement in murder and arms cases.
