Pune: Former minister and senior NCP leader Dilip Walse Patil on Saturday ‘announced’ the dates for upcoming local body elections even before the official notification from State Election Commission.Addressing party workers in Manchar, Walse Patil said, “As per my information, voting for zilla parishad elections will be held on Dec 15, while municipal corporation polls will take place on Jan 15, 2026. The entire election process will conclude before Jan 31.”He said the elections were delayed due to a court case over OBC reservation which disrupted preparations for polls expected in 2022. Walse Patil said the state govt has submitted an affidavit to Supreme Court on conduct of civic polls before Jan 31.
