Mumbai: Former actress Zarine Khan, wife of actor-director Sanjay Khan, passed away at age 81 Friday. She was the mother of jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali, actor Zayed Khan and designer Sussanne Khan, and former mother-in-law of Hrithik Roshan. Scores of celebrities, including neighbour Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan, arrived at the Khans’ residence in Juhu to offer condolence. Born a Parsi, Zareen Katrak, she had performed in a few films like ‘Tere Ghar Ke Samne’ where she enacted Dev Anand’s secretary named Jenny Fernandes. She also featured in ‘Ek Phool Do Mali’ starring her husband Sanjay Khan. Zarine had anchored a cookery show on television where she invited celebrity guests to dine with her. She was cremated in Juhu.
