Thane: A 24-year-old youth died after accidentally falling from the 11th floor of a residential building on Saturday in Dombivli.The deceased has been identified as Rishikesh Parab, a resident of the fifth floor in the same building located in Vishnu Nagar, Dombivli East.Parab lived with his two brothers—both well-qualified, one of whom is a bank manager—while he was employed as a delivery boy with an online food delivery company.According to reports, Parab had been standing on the building’s duct for nearly half an hour on Saturday morning, threatening to end his life. Upon learning about the situation, police and fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and tried to convince him to step down. However, Parab eventually slipped and fell.A video of the incident, which has since gone viral, shows Parab desperately trying to hold onto the duct to save himself but ultimately losing his grip and falling to his death.Preliminary police investigation has revealed that Parab had an aggressive nature. On Saturday morning, just before the incident, Parab reportedly had an argument with his girlfriend over a marriage issue at his house. The dispute escalated in the presence of his brother, during which Parab allegedly smashed his mobile phone.Suhas Hemade, Assistant Commissioner of Police, said: “After the dispute, Parab’s girlfriend went back to her house. Parab then went to the 11th floor of the building and entered the duct area, where he threatened to commit suicide.”Soon after, fire brigade personnel and Vishnu Nagar police arrived at the scene. Despite their efforts to persuade him to come down safely, Parab lost his balance and fell.Police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and are conducting further investigations to determine the exact circumstances of the dispute that drove him to take such an extreme step.
