Pune: A 30-year-old woman allegedly ended her life by hanging herself from the ceiling of her rented house in Gokulnagar Pathar, Warje Malwadi, after strangling her two-year-old daughter between Friday morning and late afternoon.Her husband, an electrician (30), filed a complaint with the Warje police later that night. “The child was suffering from severe health issues since birth, including fragile bones that led to frequent fractures even from minor falls. She was very weak and required daily medical check-ups,” senior Inspector Vishvajeet Kaingade of the Warje police told TOI.“The mother was deeply worried about her daughter’s deteriorating health and uncertain future. She feared what would happen to the child if she was no longer around,” Kaingade said, adding, “The woman tied the girl’s hands with adhesive tape, strangled her with a rope near her cradle and later used a saree to hang herself.”The husband found his wife hanging and his daughter dead with a rope around her neck after reaching home in the evening, the officer said. The family hails from Beed and was staying in the city for the past 4-5 years,” he said.Police have registered a case of murder against the mother.
