New Delhi: A 40-year-old woman and her son were injured after allegedly being shot by her husband in northeast Delhi’s Dayalpur on Saturday. No arrests have been made yet. According to police, a firing incident was reported at 1.43pm from Moonga Nagar area at Dayalpur police station. When the police reached the scene, the injured were already taken to the hospital. Investigations revealed that the wife, identified as Rizwana, had a dispute with her husband, Abdul, a resident of Jahangirpuri. “She was living with her parents for the past two to three months. On Saturday, when the husband came to meet her, an argument broke out and he allegedly fired at his wife and their son,” the police said. The crime scene was examined by a forensic team and a case was registered. “We suspect when Rizwana objected to accompanying him to Jahangirpuri, an argument broke out and the son intervened. He then shot them. Other angles are also being probed in the case,” a senior officer said. The husband was absconding and teams were formed to trace his escape route. Earlier in Aug, a man allegedly murdered his wife and two minor daughters by strangulation in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony. In May, a jeweller stabbed five people, including his in-laws and father, following a dispute with his wife in Mansarovar Park.
