Vinfast VF6 and VF7 launched in India: Prices, battery, range, features and more

Vinfast India today finally launched the new Vinfast VF6 and VF7 EVs in the Indian market. The VF6 is offered in three variants – Earth, Wind and Wind Infinity priced at Rs 16.49 lakh, Rs 17.79 lakh and Rs 18.29 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, respectively). The VF7 is offered in five variants – Earth, priced at Rs 20.89 lakh, Wind priced at Rs 23.49 lakh, Wind Infinity priced at Rs 23.99 lakh, Sky priced at Rs 24.99 lakh and Sky Infinity priced at Rs 25.49 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). The VinFast VF6 and VF7 are being locally assembled at the company’s new facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, with the VF7 being the first model to roll off the production line. The bookings for both cars are already underway, interested customers can book the EVs online or by visiting their nearest Vinfast dealership. The booking amount is set at Rs 21,000 and the deliveries are expected to begin soon.

Vinfast VF6The Vinfast enters the midsize EV space, where rivals include the Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and the Hyundai Creta Electric. In terms of design, it features a closed-off grille, vertically stacked triangular projector headlights with LED DRLs that curve downward on both sides and body cladding throughout. Other design highlights include flush-mounted roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, an integrated rear spoiler, wraparound LED taillights connected by an LED light bar, and a rear skid plate for added flair. The VF6 is offered in six exterior colour options – Crimson red, Infinity Blanc, Jet black, Desat silver, Zenith grey and Urban mint.Moving inside the VF6, the Earth trim gets a black colour scheme whereas the Wind trim features Mocca Brown interior scheme and a three-spoke steering. Features include a panoramic sunroof, a 12.9-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, a driver-oriented centre console, a head-up display (HUD), and a Level 2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) suite.The VF6 is powered by a 59.6kWh battery paired with a front-mounted motor, producing 204hp and 310Nm. On the WLTP cycle, it offers a driving range of up to 480km and can accelerate from 0-100kph in 8.89 seconds, as per VinFast. Charging options include compatibility with 3.3kW and 7.2kW AC units, along with support for DC fast charging. Vinfast VF7Talking about the VF7, it will compete against models such as the Mahindra XEV 9e and Tata Harrier EV. Similar to Tata’s offering, it will be sold in both two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions, both variants powered by a 70.8kWh battery. The 2WD setup features a 204hp front-mounted motor, identical to the VF6, while the AWD variant adds a rear motor, delivering a combined 350hp and 500Nm. On the WLTP cycle, the VF7 is claimed to cover 450km in FWD guise and 431km with AWD.

In terms of design, it features a shark-fin antenna, split LED headlights, wraparound LED taillights, a full-width LED light bar, and a roof spoiler. Additional highlights include flush-mounted door handles and 19-inch alloy wheels. It’s offered in six exterior colour options – Jet black, Desat silver, Infinity Blanc, Crimson red, Zenith Grey and Urban Mint.

Moving inside the VF7, the entry-level earth trim is offered with an all-black interior theme whereas the mid and top-spec Wind and Sky trim will feature Mocca Brown interior theme. Features-wise, it gets a 15-inch display touchscreen infotainment system, a head-up display, over-the-air update capability, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, dual-zone auto AC, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and a panoramic sunroof.

VinFast has already signed agreements with 13 dealer groups to establish 32 dealerships across 27 cities. The company aims to expand this network to 35 dealerships by the end of 2025, strengthening its presence in the Indian EV landscape. VinFast plans to roll out its first phase of dealerships across a mix of major metro areas and fast-growing EV hubs. Locations include cities such as Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Kochi, Bhubaneswar, Thiruvananthapuram, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Coimbatore, Surat, Kozhikode, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Shimla, Agra, Jhansi, Gwalior, Vapi, Vadodara, and Goa.
