Vasai-Virar civic body transfers 19 town planning staff after ED recovers Rs 32 crore from officer's house

VASAI: The Municipal Commissioner and Administrator of Vasai Virar City Municipal Corporation (VVCMC) transferred 19 staff working in the Town Planning department of the VVCMC. Most of the employees (both contractual and staff) have been working in the town planning department for more than 3 years, which was objected to by the Congress leader from Vasai, Kuldeep Vartak. These transfers are seen as a major and welcome change after the VVCMC Deputy Director of Town Planning Y. S. Reddy was raided by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on May 15. During this raid the ED had seized cash and jewellery of around 32 crores and the investigations are currently underway.
