In view of escalating tensions in West Asia and multiple airspace closures, Air Arabia has temporarily suspended all flights to and from the United Arab Emirates, the airline said in an operational update. In its update, it shared that the suspension will remain in place until 15:00 (UAE time) Tuesday, March 3. In addition, the carrier has also suspended flights to and from Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and Iraq until March 4.

The airline also noted that all those who have their flights scheduled within the next 24 hours will be notified directly via email and SMS regarding alternative travel options. Those who have booked through travel agents, they have been advised to contact their agents directly to help them to re-book or for further assistance. However, the operational update also noted that those who booked through Air Arabia are encouraged to ensure their contact details are up to date by visiting the “Manage Booking” section on the airline’s website to receive the latest updates. Air Arabia has urged all customers to check their flight status online before proceeding to the airport. It emphasised that since the airline is currently experiencing a high volume of calls and enquiries, they requested for passengers’ patience.The airline added that its teams are actively monitoring the evolving situation and reiterated that the safety of passengers and crew remains its highest priority.Earlier, Etihad Airways also shared an update with regard to suspending Abu Dhabi flights until March 3 amid regional airspace closures. It added that it’s suspending all flights to and from Abu Dhabi until 14:00 UAE time on Tuesday, 3 March.In its operational update, the airline added that the temporary suspension is in line with the ongoing airspace restrictions that are affecting the region. It assured that the services will resume only once all safety criteria are met.
