Mumbai: Two passengers on an IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Krabi were deboarded and handed over to security agencies on Tuesday after they turned unruly during an inordinate delay to take-off.Flight 6E1085, scheduled to depart at 4.05 am, eventually departed at 1.21 pm. In a statement, IndiGo said that the flight was delayed due to a combination of operational factors. It was initially held up because of the late arrival of the incoming aircraft, air traffic congestion, and crew members exceeding their duty time limitations, IndiGo said. Two clips of the incident doing the rounds on social media show passengers from the front rows standing along the aisle and arguing with a lone flight attendant. The passengers can be heard demanding that they want to speak with the pilots, while the flight attendant stands blocking their entrance to the cockpit door. Some passengers can be seen getting aggressive as they shout abuses at the crew member, while others can be seen recording the incident on their mobile phones. Another recording taken from an onboard camera shows one of the passengers kicking the L1 door of the aircraft in anger.“Two passengers behaved inappropriately during the wait time and were declared unruly,” said IndiGo, adding that the protocol was followed, and they were asked to deboard and handed over to the security agencies. The airline said meals and refreshments were served multiple times to passengers during the waiting period, and airport staff remained available to assist customers.
