Two men died after truck hit motorcycle in Delhi’s Bhalswa Dairy

New Delhi: Two men died after a truck hit their motorcycle in northwest Delhi’s Bhalswa Dairy on Wednesday. The accident took place around 11:50 pm near Gurjjar Chowk, following which a PCR call was received at Bhalswa Dairy police station. “A police team found a truck bearing a Punjab registration number and a black motorcycle lying in an accidental condition on the road,” a senior police officer said. The two men were taken to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital for treatment, where they were declared brought dead. The deceased were identified as Azad Bharti (28), employed at a medical shop, and Dipesh (28), a taxi driver, both residents of Mukundpur. Police have recorded statement of an eyewitness named Rohit. A case has been registered under sections 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 106 (death due to negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Bhalswa Dairy police station. Both the truck and the motorcycle involved in the accident were seized for mechanical inspection. The truck driver, identified as Baljinder Singh (35), a resident of Khalchiya village in Amritsar district of Punjab, was arrested. Police said the investigation was transferred to the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal..
