Pune: The North Mahalunge MIDC police on Tuesday arrested an owner of a godown from Koregaon in Khed taluka and a driver of a transport operator on the charge of stealing iron pipes from the godown.An officer from the North Mahalunge MIDC police said a construction firm took the accused’s godown at Koregaon on rent for the storage of construction material. The firm kept iron pipes in the godown.
“In the early hours of Monday, the firm’s employee noticed a mini-truck parked outside the godown, and someone was loading pipes from the godown into it,” the officer said.He said the truck’s driver started running away after noticing the firm’s employee. The latter chased him and nabbed him.“During the questioning, the driver revealed that the owner of the godown sent him there to steal the pipes. We arrested the owner too. Two more men are on the run. We will soon arrest them,” the officer said.
