Pune: Two construction workers, a 30-year-old man and his wife, were killed and another suffered injuries after an under-construction compound wall collapsed at Jyotibnagar in Talawade on Friday evening.The Pimpri Chinchwad police identified the deceased as Sachin Shankar Rathod (30)of Medankarwadi in Chakan and his wife Komal (25). The injured worker, Manohar Chavan (38) also of Chakan, is undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Chikhali.The police said the accident occurred during the construction of a brick compound wall around an open plot of a private company. “The wall suddenly collapsed on the workers around 4.30pm while they were carrying out the compound wall construction. Sachin and Komal suffered severe injuries. They were taken to a hospital, where they were declared dead,” an officer from the Pimpri Chinchwad police said.
