Two cheat pvt financial firm of 5.5L by pledging fake gold | Pune News



Pune: Wagholi police are searching for two men from Shirur on the charge of cheating a private financial institution by securing a gold loan worth Rs5.32 lakhs after mortgaging imitation jewellery.The manager (43) of the Wagholi branch of the financial firm lodged a complaint of cheating against the duo with the police on Tuesday.According to the Wagholi police, the duo took the loan in Jan last year and mortgaged the ‘gold jewellery’ weighing over 1kg. They completed all the formalities of mortgaging the gold with the institute by filling out forms and providing their ID cards. Police said that the firm officials also checked the quality of the gold.The duo, according to the police, after securing the loan, never paid EMIs and did not come to the financial firm to get back their gold in the last 1 year.“As there were lapses in the EMIs, the firm officials decided to check the duo at their residences. The firm team visited Shirur, but it was revealed that these were fake addresses,” police said.The financial firm officials checked the gold jewellery, and they turned out to be fake. A
