Two Bangladeshi women convicted for illegally staying in Mumbai suburbs

Thane: A sessions court in Thane convicted two Bangladeshi women for illegally entering and residing in India without valid documents, sentencing them to a year and two months of simple imprisonment, along with a fine of Rs 1,000 each.The Ad-hoc Sessions Judge and Additional Sessions Judge, Thane, R M Rathod, delivered the verdict against Salaya Nojir Shaikh (44) and Tajmira Begum Shohid Gazi (26). The case dates back to Dec 30, 2024, when the Shil-Daighar police acted on a tip-off that Bangladeshis were residing illegally in a rented apartment at Khan Compound.
