Three of a family die in Kapashera after car hits illegally parked dumper; truck driver arrested | Delhi News



New Delhi: Three family members were killed and others injured in a tragic road accident in southwest Delhi’s Kapashera when their car collided with a stationary dumper truck early on Aug 25. The truck was allegedly parked improperly without any warning signs by the dumper driver, leading to the fatal crash.According to Rohit Rajput, who was driving the car, he was travelling with his son Pramod, daughter-in-law Nitu, and other relatives from Guga Medi to Faridabad. The accident occurred around 4.45am as the vehicle exited the Dwarka Tunnel.“As the car emerged from the tunnel, it collided with a stationary dumper truck parked on the left side of the road. The truck had no warning signs or reflectors. With another vehicle on the right side and the dumper suddenly in front of him, he couldn’t avoid the collision,” Rohit told police.The impact caused severe damage to the left side of the vehicle. Two passengers—Vimal (23) and Brij Rani (48)—died on the spot. Rohit, Pramod, Devender (30), and others sustained injuries. Nitu (28) and her four-year-old son Ayansh were rushed to the hospital, but Ayansh was declared dead on arrival.The dumper driver, Vipin Kashyap (31), fled the scene immediately after the accident. Police arrived promptly, initiated investigation, and recorded the accident details. The crime team, along with the forensic science lab (FSL), collected evidence from the site.Based on the investigation, a case was registered at Kapashera police station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.The dumper has been seized. Kashyap was arrested on Friday for alleged negligence leading to the fatal crash, said police.
