Pune: A magisterial court in Paud on Saturday remanded the Mundhwa land’s power of attorney (PoA) holder, Sheetal Tejwani, in 14-day judicial custody in the stamp duty waiver case. Deputy commissioner of police, Pimpri Chinchwad, Vishal Gaikwad told TOI, “Tejwani was produced before the magisterial court and was remanded in judicial custody.” She was later sent to Yerawada jail.
Tejwani’s police custody in connection with a controversial land deal with a private firm, Amadea Enterprises LLP, ended on Saturday. The Pune police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) had arrested her over alleged irregularities linked to suspended tehsildar Suryakant Yeole’s two illegal orders granting ownership rights of govt land parcels in Mundhwa and Bopodi to private parties. Tejwani was accused of entering into a Rs300-crore deal for the Mundhwa land parcel with Amadea Enterprises LLP, linked to deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar’s son, Parth Pawar.
