The trailer of Milly Alcock’s upcoming movie Supergirl was unveiled by the makers on Wednesday (April 1, 2026). It is directed by Craig Gillespie and also stars Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa.

The trailer opens with a conversation between Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl and Clark as Superman, who asks her when is she coming back, expressing his worries that she will not find her stride if she keeps going off-world all the time. “I am worried you are not gonna find your people,” he says as she replies, “I have no people.” It is revealed that her planet was destroyed and she lost everyone, with her only companion being Krypto, the super dog. Later, Krypto is shot and Kara has to find an antidote to save it. She is also pitted against Krem of the Yellow Hills, played in the film by Matthias. Joining her is Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve) as they meet Lobo (Jason), the bounty hunter and together battle the bad guys to save Krypto from dying.

The official synopsis of the film reads, “When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.”

Supergirl is based on Tom King’s 2022 comic series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, illustrated by Bilquis Evely, and adapted for the screen by Ana Nogueira. The film is set to be released in theatres on June 26.
