‘Su From So’: When and where to watch the sensational Kannada hit

The hit Kannada comedy Su From Sois set for its OTT release. Out in theatres on July 25, 2025, the movie enjoyed a sensational run in theatres.

Directed by JP Thuminad, Su From So opened to rave reviews and crossed the ₹100-crore mark at the box office. Actor-filmmaker Raj B Shetty, who also stars in the movie in a prominent role, has co-produced the movie.

After winning the hearts of the Kerala and Telugu audience in its dubbed versions in theatres, Su From So will premiere on JioHotstar from September 09. The movie is produced by the banner Lighter Buddha Films.

The movie stars JP Thuminad, Shaneel Gautham, Prakash Thuminad, Raj B Shetty and Sandhya Arakere. Set in the coastal Karnataka region, the movie is about what happens when in a quiet village, everyone’s convinced that a youngster is possessed. A series of strange and hilarious events unfold as people try to drive away the ghost.

Sumedh K has composed the music for the movie, with songs such as ‘Danks Anthem’ and ‘Bhava Theme’ becoming major chartbusters. Sandeep Thulasidas has scored the BGM. Su From So stood out for its minimal marketing activities prior to the release. Instead of a series of pre-release interviews, the makers focused on paid premieres in Karnataka, banking on the verdict of the audience. Popular Bollywood personalities Anurag Kashyap and Ajay Devgn praised the movie.

Su From So was appreciated for blending rip-roaring comedy with a pertinent message. The Hindu review of the movie said, “The film, which begins with words of high praise for the external beauty of villages, delves deep into its internal filth, the mindset of men who stop women from expressing themselves. This tonal shift is never jarring as Su From So ends on a rousing note, maintaining the assurance of a quality film till the very end.”
