Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday said it was “unethical” that CJI Surya Kant accepted a welcome at the city airport from deputy CM Eknath Shinde when the case on who controls Shiv Sena and its symbol is still pending before Supreme Court.“Usually, the CJI is received by the bureaucracy, including the chief secretary. This time, Shinde was present at the airport. The CJI accepted a bouquet from him even though the case is pending before him in Supreme Court and has been delayed for the last three-and-a-half years,” he said. He said it was the first time he had seen a politician welcoming the CJI at the airport. Raut claimed Shinde also went to the hotel where the CJI was staying. “It proves once again why our case is dragging on.” He alleged the CJI plans to enter politics. “This is why he is maintaining relations with political parties.” Raut also slammed BJP minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, who wants ‘King Edward’ dropped from King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital. “Lodha wants to do this on grounds of nationalism. But has business dealings with US President Donald Trump who has threatened India,” he said. Lodha had named Lodha Tower as Trump Tower, he said. “First, he should change that name to Modi Tower, Thackeray Tower or Chhatrapati Shivaji Tower. Then we can talk about KEM Hospital.”
