New Delhi: The admission process for postgraduate courses at Delhi University (DU) under the Common Seat Allocation System 2025 is moving ahead swiftly. With the completion of the first phase, DU is now preparing for the second phase of seat allocations, which is scheduled to begin on Tuesday.To accommodate students who were unable to participate in the initial round of applications for various reasons, the university has opened a special mid-entry window. This opportunity will be available from 5 pm on July 2 and will remain open until 4:59 pm on July 4.In the first phase of the admission process, a total of 11,314 seats were allocated out of the available 13,432 postgraduate seats. So far, 7,586 candidates accepted their allotted seats. These figures do not include seats reserved for performance-based courses, and the university has yet to release the complete data for the first phase.The second allocation list will be made available on the candidates’ dashboards by 5 pm on Tuesday. Applicants who receive seat allotments in this round must accept their seats by 4:59 pm on Friday. Following this, the respective departments, centres or colleges will carry out the online verification and approval of documents, which must be completed by 4:59 pm on Saturday. The final step in this round of admissions is the payment of the admission fee, which must be completed by 4:59 pm on Sunday.This year, DU is offering admissions across 82 postgraduate programmes. The registration process for these courses began on May 16 and concluded on June 12. In total, 53,609 candidates registered, including 23,117 male candidates, 30,490 female candidates and two transgender applicants.Looking ahead, the third round of seat allocation is scheduled to be released on July 8. This phase will include seat allotments for special categories, such as children/widows of war veterans, sports quota, ward quota and performance-based programmes like MFA, MA music, BPEd and MPEd. Candidates allotted seats in this round must accept their offers by 4:59 pm on July 10, complete document verification by July 11 and submit the admission fee by 4:59 pm on July 12.
