Rs 1.5 crore gold kalash stolen near Red Fort: Delhi police arrest suspect in Hapur

NEW DELHI: Delhi crime branch have arrested a man in connection with the theft of two golden kalash, worth an estimated Rs 1.5 crore from a religious event held opposite the Red Fort.The accused has been identified as Bhushan Verma. The crime branch said the suspect was tracked down and nabbed in Hapur, a neighbouring district, on Monday.

Raids are underway to recover the kalash. Officers said they received a call on Wednesday reporting the theft of a one-kilogram gold kalash from the Kotwali area in north Delhi. CCTV footage appeared to show a man leaving the venue with the valuables. An investigation has been launched, and an FIR under Section 303 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered at Kotwali police station.
