Rekha launches 51 more Arogya Mandirs, targets total of 1,100

New Delhi: The city got 51 more Ayushman Arogya Mandirs on Friday, taking the total number to 370. Chief minister Rekha Gupta, who inaugurated all of them from Fatehpur Beri village in south Delhi, said govt aimed to establish over 1,100 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in the near future.“Delhi govt’s priority is to ensure that every citizen has access to timely, affordable and easily available healthcare. The launch of 370 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Delhi within just one year is a testament to our govt’s speed and scale,” Gupta posted on X, adding that the people of Delhi are getting access to investigations, treatment and essential medicines right in their own areas. The establishment of more than 1,100 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs will ensure reliable and quality healthcare services for every Delhiite in their own area, CM wrote.

Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are neighbourhood govt-run clinics that provide free tests and medicines, advanced diagnostic services, cancer screening, vaccination, elderly care and maternal and child care facilities. Each centre offers 80 types of free diagnostic tests.South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, who also attended the event, said the clinic would help people of Fatehpur Beri get world-class health facilities, where doctors, medicines and tests would be available for free.“Our govt views healthcare not as an expense, but as an investment,” emphasised CM. “Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are not merely treatment centres; they are hubs of prevention, awareness and trust. When the intent is clear and the resolve is strong, results follow swiftly,” she said. Gupta also launched development projects worth Rs 322 crore in Chhatarpur, including construction and strengthening of roads, improvement of drainage systems, infrastructure upgrades to ease traffic congestion, development of schools and enhancement of public amenities. “This development will make the lives of local people easier and connect the area to new possibilities,” she said.Govt has approved a double-decker flyover on Mehrauli-Badarpur Road at a cost of Rs 1,471 crore, besides four elevated road projects for Chhatarpur and nearby areas, Gupta said. The Chhatarpur assembly constituency will also get three new schools, she added.Chhatarpur MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar and councillor Sunder Singh Tanwar attended the event.
