Pune Porsche crash case: Supreme Court grants bail to accused driver’s father

PUNE: The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted bail to the father of the minor (now an adult) accused in the 2024 Pune Porsche crash that killed software engineers, after 22 months in custody.As per media reports, the case is related to alleged blood sample manipulation.The man is accused of replacing his son’s blood sample with his own in a bid to save him.Last month, the apex court had agreed to hear the bail plea. It had also issued a notice on an appeal filed by another man whose son was sitting in the car when the crash occurred.The two had approached the Supreme Court after the Bombay high court rejected their bail pleas.The accident took place late on May 19, 2024, when a Porsche car, allegedly driven by a juvenile in an inebriated state, rammed into a motorcycle in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar area. The crash killed two 24-year-old software engineers, Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta.
