Pune: The traffic police in both Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad have proposed vehicular diversions across different areas on Thursday (March 26) to accommodate planned processions on the occasion of Ram Navami.In Pune, vehicular traffic on the arterial stretch from Puram Chowk on Bajirao Road towards Shivajinagar will be diverted via alternative routes. The proposed changes will be implemented by the traffic police between 4pm and 10pm.Further, there will also be traffic diversions instituted on MG Road and 15 August Chowk near the railway station during the processions.The Pimpri Chinchwad traffic branch has suggested diversions in key areas like Bhosari, Chikhali and Chakan from 10am to 10pm on Thursday.Vehicles taking part in in the religious processions as well as emergency services such like ambulances will be exempted from the restrictions on using the roads.The police in both cities have made an appeal to the people to use the alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion as well as to plan their travel in advance.
