New Delhi: As Delhi Assembly gears up for its 75th Constitution Day celebrations, a key highlight will be the unveiling of a specially curated coffee table book marking 100 years since Vithalbhai Patel became the first Indian elected Speaker of the Central Legislative Assembly in 1925. The book, featuring rare archival photographs, key documents, excerpts from Patel’s speeches and material tracing the evolution of India’s legislative institutions, will be released by Vice-President CP Radhakrishnan, who will be the chief guest. Speaker Vijender Gupta chaired a high-level meeting on Saturday to review the arrangements. Senior officials from Delhi Police, PWD, horticulture department and the Assembly Secretariat were present as the Speaker directed departments to ensure seamless coordination for Nov 26.
