Mumbai: A sessions court granted anticipatory bail to film producer Manish Trehan and his brother-in-law, Satwant Singh, in an Oct 2024 case of alleged Rs 2.5-crore fraud on a Khar businessman. As per the victim, Trehan took a loan from him citing business expansion and a film to be aired on an OTT platform, and promised to return it, with interest, in a year but never did. The court noted that most of the investigation has been completed and the accused’s custodial interrogation was unnecessary. —S Ahmed Ali
