PUNE: Indicating that Congress will have no aversion to MNS joining MVA with a possible reunion between the Thackeray cousins, the senior Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar on Thursday said that Congress will take a positive approach after discussing with party seniors in Mumbai. “We are considering the enemy’s enemy as our friend,” said Wadettiwar.Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and MNS chief Raj Thackeray held a marathon meeting at the latter’s residence in Mumbai on Wednesday. While there are speculations of a political reunion between the two cousins, the MVA, which Uddhav is part of, is also keeping a close watch on the developments.Speaking about the possible reunion between the Thackerays, Wadettiwar said, “Our fight is against those who are destroying the state and country. If somebody is providing more strength to us in that fight, we are ready to take a positive call on it.”After a gap of nearly 20 years, Uddhav and Raj came together and addressed a rally in Mumbai on the issue of the Marathi language, and from there, both parties have shown positive signs of coming together for the upcoming civic elections also. While a section of Congress members, particularly from Mumbai, have expressed apprehension about including MNS in MVA, the senior party members have not ruled out any possibility.“Two cousins came together on the issue of the Marathi language. Now let them make their stand clear on a political alliance, and after that, we will take a call. It is true that a section of members from Mumbai think that they should be allowed to take a call on the alliance at a local level for the civic bodies polls. We will have to discuss the issue with our central leadership in Delhi,” Wadettiwar said.Responding to a question if MVA members will accommodate Raj’s style of politics, Wadettiwar said, “Despite Uddhav Thackeray’s Hindutva ideology, we came together against BJP and successfully ran the govt for more than two years. Now it is an issue of local bodies polls, and we are positive about bringing all those together who are taking a stand against BJP.”
