Pune: The Pimpri Chinchwad crime branch raided a lodge on Wednesday night and arrested a woman (33) who was allegedly running a sex racket.The woman has been contacting customers via social media platforms and mobile messenger apps. A police team led by senior inspector Nitin Gite took action against two women who, as per the police, were forced into prostitution by the arrested woman. These women have been sent to a rescue home.The officer said the police got a tip-off that a woman was operating a sex racket in the Nigdi area. She used to share photographs of the other women to people and ask them to meet at different lodges in the Nigdi area. “We contacted the woman through a decoy customer. The woman told him to book a room in a lodge in Nigdi on Wednesday night,” the officer said.He said the police team laid a trap in the lodge and arrested the woman, who had come at the lodge with two other women. “A case has been registered against the woman with the Nigdi police,” he said.
