Pimpri cops arrest 5, recover 37 vehicles | Pune News



Pune: The Pimpri police arrested a five-member gang involved in thefts of two-wheelers from different parts of Pimpri Chinchwad in five months. The police recovered 37 two-wheelers and two autorickshaws collectively worth Rs 15 lakh from the gang.Assistant police commissioner (Pimpri Division) of the Pimpri Chinchwad police, Vishal Hire said, “A special squad was formed to detect vehicle theft cases in the Pimpri Chinchwad area. The squad, led by assistant inspector Digambar Atigre, checked over 100 CCTV footage from different crime scenes and established the route of the vehicle thieves.”The officer said that the team then took Mubin Shaikh (25), Faiz Shaikh (25), both of Navi Sangvi, Aman Shukla (19), Sunil More (30) of Uruli Kanchan, and Raju Marathe (46) of Dehu Road into custody. “We have also detained their minor accomplice,” the officer said.
