Pilot arrested for filming women with spy camera

New Delhi: A 31-year-old pilot working for a private airline has been arrested for allegedly recording objectionable videos of women using a spy camera in Kishangarh, southwest Delhi.According to police, the accused—identified as Mohit Priyadarshi—had been secretly filming women in crowded places over the past two years. Upon examining the spy camera, officers recovered 74 objectionable videos stored on the device.The incident came to light around 10.20 pm on Aug 30 at Shani Bazaar in Kishangarh Village, when Priyadarshi allegedly attempted to record a woman and she noticed a spy camera concealed between his toes. She immediately raised an alarm and snatched both the spy camera and his mobile phone. However, the accused fled the scene before police arrived.Following the incident, a case was registered under Sections 77 (voyeurism) and 78 (stalking) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. While reviewing CCTV footage, police tracked the suspect’s movements, extracted clear images of him, and circulated these across various jurisdictions. “Based on local intelligence, the accused was identified and arrested,” said deputy commissioner of police (southwest) Amit Goel.Priyadarshi confessed to police that he recorded the videos for personal gratification, said an officer, adding, “He used to watch indecent videos and later began recording such videos himself.”
