‘Patriot’ postponed: Mammootty-Mohanlal movie gets new release date

The makers of the Malayalam movie Patriothave postponed the release of the movie. The highly anticipated film stars Mohanlal and Mammootty.

On April 01, 2026 (Wednesday), Mammootty and Mohanlal took to social media to announce the development. The Mahesh Narayanan directorial was set to hit the screens on April 23, 2026.

The espionage thriller will now release on May 01, 2026. On March 31, 2026, the movie’s producer Anto Joseph took to Instagram to express that the film had to be postponed due to “unforseen circumstances.” He added that the entire team is working hard to provide the “highest quality possible.”

In October 2025, the makers of Patriot had released a teaser for the movie. The visuals did not give away much about the plot but definitely points at a high-octane gripping tale with political undertones.

Patriot has a star-studded ensemble, which includes Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara and Darshana Rajendran. Among other actors are Revathy, Zarin Shihab and cinematographer-director Rajiv Menon.

Sushin Shyam is the music director for Patriot while Manush Nandan is the cinematographer. Director Mahesh and Rahul Radhakrishnan are the editors for the movie.
