‘Patriot’: Mammootty and Mohanlal’s much-awaited collaboration gets release date

Mammootty and Mohanlal’s upcoming film, Patriot finally has a release date. The Mahesh Narayanan directorial will be released in theatres on April 23, 2026, the makers announced on Monday, January 26, 2026.

Mammootty unveiled a new poster of the film to make the announcement on X. He wrote in the caption, “Unleashing the spirit of fearless voices, this Republic Day. #PATRIOT arrives worldwide on April 23, 2026. The countdown begins NOW.”

Earlier, the character posters of all the other actors in the film were unveiled. All of them were captioned as, “Dissent is patriotic.”

Patriot also stars Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara and Darshana Rajendran. Among other actors are Revathy, Zarin Shihab and cinematographer-director Rajiv Menon.

Produced by Anto Joseph and KG Anil Kumar, the movie is scripted by Mahesh and has music by Sushin Shyam. Cinematographer is Manush Nandan. Mahesh is the editor along with Rahul Radhakrishnan. That the film has four stunt choreographers hints at an action-packed narrative.
