New Delhi: A woman was allegedly stabbed by a man with whom she was in a relationship in south-west Delhi’s Uttam Nagar. Police arrested the accused and said a monetary dispute is suspected to be the motive behind the attack.Police received a PCR call around 12:20 pm on Dec 16 regarding a stabbing incident in Uttam Nagar. A police team rushed to the spot, where it was found that the injured woman was already taken to hospital by a PCR van.
According to the medico-legal certificate, the woman sustained multiple stab injuries around her neck along with abrasions.During the inquiry, police found that the woman, a resident of Om Vihar, Uttam Nagar, was living on rent for the past four years and was in a relationship with a 43-year-old man for the last eight to nine years. The man, who is married and works as a security guard, was reportedly involved in frequent arguments with the victim in recent days.On Dec 16, another quarrel broke out between them, during which he allegedly attacked the woman with a knife and fled the spot. The victim raised an alarm, following which police reached the scene and shifted her to the hospital. Police said the accused is arrested. TNN
